So, will the Mac Mini be updated or discontinued? That seems to be the question circulating on the net right now. At Macminicolo.net they claim to have 100% confirmation that it will be updated and have 100% confirmed two out of three features the new Mac Mini will have, though they don't say which two.
They also listed some possible feature changes that might come to the Mac Mini but were unable to confirm them. Of them they mentioned the inclusion of FireWire on the Mac Mini. Now this one I highly doubt. Apple has been slowing phasing out FireWire and the introduction of a MacBook without it is proof that it is on the way out. I remember my first iPod in 2004 supported FireWire. But, my next iPod did not and it has been gone ever since. No, they included it on the MacBook Pro because they can expect the pro customers to pay for that feature without fuss. As for the consumer products - say "good-bye" to FireWire.
