Apple and Oracle all hugs on Java SE7 for Mac OS X | ZDNet: "A joint press release from Oracle and Apple on Friday cleared up the angst over the future role of Java on Mac OS. The OpenJDK project will handle the release and Apple will do the heavy lifting on the “key components, tools and technology required for a Java SE 7 implementation on Mac OS X,” the release said."
MC: Reading through the article, it sounds like there will inevitably be a lag between the release of JSE7 and it's availability on the Mac platform as that project is already well underway and adding in a new platform at this stage is difficult. So, when the rest of the world gets JSE7, Mac users will have to wait a bit until it's ready for them. Uh. Who cares?
