Mac App Store Opening Tomorrow - January 6, 2011

Apple - App Store - Buy, download, and install apps made for Mac. Are you ready for the Mac App store? I was visiting the Apple.com site on this subject and did not see any information about how the Mac app store will be delivered to the desktop itself. I assume this will happen via a Software Update on the Mac.

I was pleased to read - maybe I wasn't paying attention - that you'll be able to re-download apps you purchased and that you'll be able to install them on all the Macs that you use. I just hope once they are "activated" on the desktop that they don't rely upon the Internet to work or to check that they are authorized. That will be a pain if you open your app and it does not open because you're on a plane and can't re-authorize the app because 30 days (or some other arbitrary limit) has passed.

Anyway, here is to the success of the Mac App Store. I know it will be very successful.
