Flash 10.1 for Mac Improves Performance

Well, Adobe released Flash 10.1 this week. For the Mac it is a welcome update, at least with my testing on my systems. I have found that the player uses less CPU resources than before. My fan does not immediately start spinning at high speed when I play flash videos. My wife's MacBook Air used to heat up rather quickly and even overheat when playing flash videos. Last night I spent about 3 hours watching YouTube videos. First, I am amazed that I was entertained for such a long stretch by YouTube. Second, the MacBook Air barely got warm. Kudos to Adobe on Flash 10.1 on the Mac. It actually does not kill the machine! Now, let's tap into that hardware acceleration and see if you can get this thing working on mobile devices. Maybe Apple will change it's mind on Flash on the iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad . . . though I won't hold my breath. :-)
